Source Testing New Zealand (STNZ) commenced operation in 2008 and specialise in servicing their clients air quality monitoring needs.

In late October 2009 the STNZ laboratory was formally assessed by International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) to determine compliance with the requirements of NZS ISOIEC 17025:2005 “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”, the laboratory’s quality management system and the conditions of accreditation. The STNZ laboratory was formally accredited by International Accreditation New Zealand on 22 June 2010.

STNZ is owned and operated by Matthew Newby, Air Quality Scientist.

Matthew has over 25 years experience in the field of environmental monitoring including industrial source emissions, ambient air quality monitoring, odour monitoring, water quality monitoring, contaminated sites monitoring and soil sampling.

Over his years Matthew has gained extensive experience in USEPA and other international standard sampling methodology including: particulates (TPM, PM10,PM2.5 ), acid gases (SOx, NOx, acid halides), metals, aldehydes, volatile organic compounds (VOC), dioxins/furans (PCDD/PCDF), poly-aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), acid herbicides and other semi volatile organic compounds. As a result, Matthew is recognised as one of the leading emission testers in New Zealand.
